DAVID NIEPER LIVE PROJECT: INTRODUCTION
12:21DAVID NIEPER LIVE PROJECT
THIS IS AN EXCITING AND UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY, TO WORK ON AN INDUSTRY BASED LIVE PROJECT. IT INVOLVES CHOOSING A DECADE OF HISTORY AS A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION, TO DESIGN AN OUTFIT WHICH IS BOTH INTERESTING AND INNOVATIVE. IT MUST FIT THE BRAND'S TARGET MARKET, BUT AT THE SAME TIME BE SOMETHING NEW, FRESH AND CATER TO THE 50+ MARKET.FACTORY TOUR:
Following the presentation of the project by Rebecca Alton, and the introduction of the Project Brief, we were invited on an exclusive tour of the David Nieper factory and facilities. This tour was very interesting and informative, as it enabled me to understand how the Design Cycle is carried out in industry. I also got the chance to meet and talk to key members of the Design, Grading, Manufacturing and Marketing teams. I learnt a lot about how different departments work together, and I found it particularly interesting how the Design/Grading teams were located next to the Manufacturing teams. I think this is a really good layout, as it must enable efficient communication.
